1. Open the installation email from F-Secure
When you purchase Bahnhof Safe, you will receive an email with installation details. If you cannot find the email, search for F-Secure or safeavenue@f-secure.com in your inbox. Then click on Install Bahnhof Safe.
If you still have not received the email, you can instead install the software directly via the link here and reset your password at the same time. Then sign in using the email address you use with Bahnhof and your new password.
2. Download the installation file
Once you have logged in, click Download for Windows PC. When the download is complete, you can start the installation by clicking the file at the bottom of the browser window.
If you are unsure where the file was saved, you can access your downloaded files by pressing Ctrl+J in most browsers.
3. Restart your computer if required
In some cases, you may be prompted to restart your computer in order for the installation to continue. Make sure to save any ongoing work before restarting your computer.
Note: If you already have another security program installed on your computer, Bahnhof Safe will detect it and notify you. You will then need to uninstall the existing program before you can continue installing Bahnhof Safe.
4. Accept the licence terms
When the license terms are displayed, click Accept and continue to proceed.
5. Welcome to Bahnhof Safe
When the installation is complete, the welcome screen is displayed. Click Continue.
6. Done – your basic protection is now up and running!
To be fully protected, make sure you also:
- Activate Browsing Protection.
- Set up the Password Vault.
- Enable ID Monitoring.
Finally, you should also install Bahnhof Safe on all your other devices to keep them equally secure.

2. Download the installation file

2. Install the app
Click Get/Install to start the installation, then open the app once the installation is complete.
3. Accept the terms
You now need to accept the license terms. You may also choose to share non-personalized data if you want to help us continue improving the application. Click Accept and continue.
4. Sign in / Change password
The app will request your login details, which you can find in the installation email. Sign-in is automatic on Android phones.
For iOS (iPhone), enter the login details from the installation email and then change your password. No manual sign-in is required for Android.
5. Almost done
Click Continue.
6. Permissions required
We recommend allowing notifications, as there may be important updates and/or changes to security settings. If you choose to skip this step, you may miss this information.
7. Done – your basic protection is now up and running!
